This is obviously to replace the old one that we have.

You can send in anything visually:
photo/drawing/digital rendering etc

We are looking for something that says
"Hey, we are the DRebels, and we are here to kick a** and take names!"

So members of ~DRebels, we are looking to you to provide us with it!

Contest End Date: Oct 20th 2005
Contest Voting Starts: Oct 21st 2005
Contest Voting Ends: Oct 31st 2005

Since this is a special contest to provide ~DRebels with a new face, we are offering a FREE 3 month subscription to DA to the winner.

*If winner is currently subscribed, we will purchase the 3 months at the winners discretion.*

All entries must have something to do with ~DRebels

Any entries not following contest rules will be disqualified.

Any member who submits a entry MUST also vote. If not, their own entry will be disqualified.

All entries can be sent via note to ~DRebels with the title "CONTEST".

Since I have taken over ~DRebels from =CowboyCasper I feel the need to have a Assistant Admin to really help promote and upkeep the site. If anyone is interested, please send me a note with "Assistant Admin" in the title and let me know if you are using the 300D or the 350D.

Hello everybody....

I am *AsianRedneck . As you may already know, =CowboyCasper , our previous (and fabulous) admin has passed the reins over to me.

I just wanted to say hi and to ensure you that nothing is really gonna change in ~DRebels . I intend to keep the integrity and honor this site has within DA.

I will be running a contest very soon.

I like to keep things short and sweet.

To subscribe with ~DRebels will remain the same, just devwatch ~DRebels and send a note with "Join" as the title. I will add you to the members list within a day or two.

CHANGE! We are asking that new members send one of their works of art along with their request to join so we may start featuring it in our gallery.

I am asking however, that those who have joined or are going to join please add ~DRebels to their signature tags to help promote the site.

Well, my equipment upgrade timetable has moved up a bit. Due to some casual eBay bidding, I somehow managed to score a pretty good deal on a new 20D!

As such, my 300D is going into retirement (or rather, the used equipment market!).

No Digital Rebel = No real use here.


The original plan when I took over this group was to try and grow it (which has been happening at a decent rate) and try and get more activity (A decent number of posts, but would have still preferred more submissions, and more discussion). Also, I was planning on co-administering it with *AsianRedneck, but the volume didn't justify 2 administrators.

Over the next little bit, he'll be taking over the reins, so to speak. I'll still be here and there, poking my head in from time to time. In the meantime, give him a warm welcome!

Well, I know that I promised some activity around here once I took over..... nothing much has happened on my end, but things are on their way:

- A flurry of new members, and submissions. Y'all are keeping me busy with the new submissions! Great work!
- Gonna run a contest soon for a new DevID for the group. When I hammer out the details, i'll let you know.

With all of the new submissions, you'll notice that there are instructions directing you back to the original deviation for comments. This should increase the pageviews for the artist, and allow them to interactively respond to comments in a single place.

However, I am also considering adding a small blurb of my own to some of the new submissions, similar to how the Daily Deviations have a quick note from the person who put it up. Lemme know what you think of this....

Joining:
Simply add the group to your Friends list, and add a tag in your signature if possible.

Submissions:
Simply send the group a note with a link to the image in your gallery, and i'll get it up in a timely fashion. See [link] for some submission guidelines and other info.


As always, feedback is welcome. This is OUR group, after all... I just administer it.
